Pacific Controls signs as new partner for iRiS Personal Valet

iRiS PV "has a fantastic 'Return on Investment' potential", say iRiS' latest distribution partner

5th December 2008 :

iRiS Software Systems, of Bushey, UK, the specialist hotel in-room technology company, has just signed Pacific Controls, the global supplier of total automation solutions, as an authorised Business Partner. The partnership will further consolidate iRiS's global presence as it builds its international channel of partners. Pacific Controls has both a head office in Dubai and an established presence in the USA with its office on Broadway in New York.

The iRiS Personal Valet (PV) complements the Pacific Controls range of products in the hospitality market. Pacific Controls has been providing solutions to hotels with its Guest Room Automation Systems enabling seamless integration with HVAC, lighting, room safes, mini bar, door locks, computerized maintenance management system and guest room management systems. The iRiS PV manages the room energy management aspect of the system but that is only one part of the feature-rich device. The iRiS PV is designed primarily as a communications device - for in-room communications to front-desk, room-service, and 'room-to-room'. It is also an information service with connections to data-feeds from the Internet, for real time local weather and travel news, and information on local services such as shops, restaurants, tourist attractions and taxis. The iRiS PV has been designed to be a luxury-class product compatible with the highest quality room decor. It is also portable, wireless, touch screen and handles multi-lingual text.

"iRiS Personal Valet has a future-proof design and an intuitive operation suitable for all guests, not just the technical astute," said Mahesh Haval, Head of Hotel Automation at Pacific Controls. "It also adds value to the hotel chains and enhances guest comfort, plus it has a fantastic 'Return on Investment' potential'."

iRiS' Managing Director, Jason Jefferys, was equally enthusiastic about the partnership. "Pacific Controls international footprint, its experience in in-room technology and global contacts makes it an ideal partner," he added. "We look forward to working together to deliver solutions to hotels that not only enhances the guest experience but also provide them with a new revenue stream."

The business model shows, not only the value in terms of guest satisfaction and loyalty, but a new revenue stream from fees paid by the shops, taxis, venues and restaurants promoted on the PV. This revenue can potentially pay for the system or generate a profit, making it a compelling proposition.
