The Draycott Hotel, the luxury hotel situated between Chelsea and Knightsbridge in London, has ordered the high specification iRiS PV (Personal Valet) for its guest bedrooms. This innovative new product will provide enhanced guest services using next generation technology without being intrusive or out of place in the wonderful period property.
The iRiS PV solution will give the Draycott a truly unique offering to its residents giving it a powerful marketing edge and enabling it to both attract new guests and increase the already high loyalty of visitors who have experienced the hotel in the past. High quality guest service is of paramount importance to the Draycott and so it had to be something special to appeal to the management team. "It was the esthetic nature of the product which first attracted me," said John Hanna, General Manager at the Draycott Hotel. "In addition, the ease of use and wide range of features will considerably enhance the guest experience at the Draycott."
iRiS Personal Valet is a high quality device for in-room communications to front-desk, room-service, and 'room-to-room'. It is also an information service with connections to data-feeds from the Internet, for real time local weather and travel news, and information on local services such as shops (for example fashion-ware, florists and jewelers), restaurants, tourist attractions and taxis. It has a luxury feel to it and provides touch-screen, wireless and multi-lingual features.
Guests can walk around using the system, or even sit on the balcony, without interrupting the TV or Laptop operations, and using the iRiS PV look up flights, search for that Thai restaurant someone recommended, order some sandwiches from room service or call a colleague on another floor of the hotel. It is designed for use by guests who would normally shun trendy pieces of technology. "We had to design a system that would be of real value to the hotel, attractive to all guests teenagers and senior citizens alike and also enhance the role of the concierge," commented Jason Jefferys, Managing Director of iRiS Software. "All the feedback from hoteliers around the world convinces us we have achieved those goals."
The Draycott will be the first iRiS Valet user in the UK setting a new standard for guest service for hotels in the luxury class. In a few years this technology may have permeated around the market but for now Draycott will be in a class of its own.
The iRiS PV will be customised to each hotel's needs in terms of style, colour, logos, local content, etc. The Draycott system will be installed in the coming weeks with a live date in May.
